  1. If what you say is true, you'd think Europe and the US do poorly and China excels in international comparisons of fundamental rights, but the reverse is true. Without exception, China is the pits. This bounty on Finn Lau's head is just symptomatic.

  2.  @WongPeter-tx7qq  You're insuating that there's some kind of Eastern or Chinese style of democracy. China's system is not democratic, period. No need to invent new forms of democracy that would somehow apply to China, because none will fit, no matter how you twist or turn it. It's telling that China needs to pretend to be democratic. It's a tacit admission by China's autocratic leaders that China should be democratic. The poor autocrats are in damage control mode, trying to deny the obvious, for as long as possible.
