@mynjeri5469 The arms race and the Soviet-Afghan War ruined the Soviet economy and spelled the end of the USSR. The war in Ukraine is proving far more costly to Russia than the former did to the USSR. Plus the economic sanctions are taking a huge bite out of the Russian economy. And you think the European economy, which is nearly ten times as big as that of Russia, will collapse first?

@livingtribunal4110 AA missiles don't leave that big a hole. They have a fairly small warhead. Also, AA missile self-destruct if they miss their target. Nice try, troll.

@mynjeri5469 Russia doesn't really benefit from the higher energy prices. Europe is looking elsewhere for hydrocarbons, while it goes green at an increasing pace. In the meantime, Russia needs to flog its hydrocarbons elsewhere, and at a hefty rebate at that. Replacing its once-best customers is but a distant dream, both in terms of volumes and profits. Russia is truly and royally screwed. The US will suffer more from a worldwide recession than it stands to gain from energy sales. Unlike Russia, the US is not an undiversified economy that's critically dependent on oil and gas income.
