  1.  @wolfswinkel8906  Early last year, Putin tried to deny Finland and Sweden the right to join NATO, which was immediately interpreted as a direct affront to their sovereignty. Then he invaded Ukraine. These miscalculations amounted to Putin rolling out the red NATO carpet for all three. He's an accomplished NATO recruiter all right.

  2. You need to read up on the Copenhagen criteria. A military pact isn't part of them, but as long as the EU has non-NATO members, it's practically impossible to demand NATO membership. And if not NATO, which military alliance?
