@Wolfcamp555 You'd be surprised how much sea cargo bound for the US passes through the Red Sea. This goes especially for US West Coast. Besides, if spot prices for shipping shoot up, the US will suffer along with the rest of us.

@raysondetre Actually, the other day the Houthis attacked a tanker that was carrying Russian oil. It's as if you're suggesting that Russia is complicit in -- alleged -- genocide.

The Houthis are attacking Red Sea shipping at the behest of Iran. It doesn't serve their own interests in the least. It's just that they owe Iran. If the Houthi rebels could decide independently, they'd stop -- or rather, they never would've started this in the first place.

@@jean-patricepaluku4754 The Houthi attacks on Red Sea shipping were just condemned by the UNSC -- without opposition from Russia or China, for that matter. No-one has even tabled a draft resolution about the sanctions against Russia or Iran. As it so happens, the sanctions against Iran stem from UN resolutions, which were supported by Russia. The UN is the closest thing we have to international law. It appears you're the hypocrite here. You're accusing "the West" while it's actually the UN -- meaning the whole world -- that's behind this.

@tokasonumeanozie3096 Duh. The inflation we've been experiencing is a direct result of the energy crisis. Europe had to wean itself off Russian oil and gas post-haste. The irony is that Russia, the one that isn't bankrolling Ukraine, has had worse inflation. Your economics teacher would be very embarrassed with you now.
