Don't try to play the hypocrisy card. Typically every mass protest has an element of rioting to it. In France, the Yellow Vest protests attracted the usual bunch of anti-establishment rioters, for whom any excuse will do. It's the same with G20 summits. The authorities in any country will act against rioters. But trying to brand peaceful protesters as rioters appears to be a Chinese thing.

Shawn Li The fact of the matter is that Hong Kong is inextricably linked to much of China's international trade. Foreign companies routinely sign agreements that are subject to Hong Kong law, since PRC courts aren't seen as competent or trustworthy in settling disputes. Hence, if Hong Kong is taken out of the equation, trade with China and the rest of the world will suffer greatly as China's trading partners no longer have a viable legal recourse.

Audio 9999 Trade is not the point. Hong Kong, however, is the legal guarantor. Foreign companies won't trade without legal aspects being addressed.

@jeffreytay466 Solution? That's easy. Hong Kong needs democratic reform.
