@Writeous0ne The T-72 reached the end of the road a long time ago in terms of design life. The end-of-the-road T-90 and the woulda-coulda-shoulda T-14 are testament to that. The Leopard 2 has a lot of life left in it, like the KF51 Panther upgrade shows. You sound like a WW1 general who dismissed the tank as a fad. Tanks vs. anti-tank weapons will always be a race. Tank armour became resistant to HEAT and HESH rounds, and drones and top-attack missiles will be defeated with APS.

@Hachithedoggiestofdogs Ah, a self-taught military "expert" reported for duty. Conversion training for experienced T-72 crews takes 4 to 6 weeks. Heavy maintenance can initially be done across the border, in Poland. Incidentally, Poland converted from the T-72 to the Leopard 2. There's nothing new in terms of ammo supply and transporting heavy equipment.

@MSD Group Don't you worry your pretty little head. The Abrams does just fine in the cold. Better even, engine-wise, than anything but the T-80, owing to the gas turbine on both types.

@bobzitsomee5987 Another "expert" weighing in. What exactly are the "Ukraine battleground conditions" that necessitate updates to the Leo 2? Spit it out, don't be shy.

@Nathan-ry3yu Servicing the Abrams' gas turbine would be a cinch for Ukraine's Motor Sich. They cater to an international market, especially in marine gas turbines.

@catalinxnecula The Motor Sich facilities were evacuated prior to the strikes.

@catalinxnecula Huh? This is about servicing Abrams gas turbine engines. Ukraine has the expertise. Did you think this was about manufacturing engines for the Abrams?
