Let's not forget that a substantial part of Hong Kong's population had fled Communist rule on the mainland. They voted with their feet, which goes to show which alternative was preferable, Communist repression or British colonial rule.

@viboulk Rubbish. There's the SNP advocating Scottish independence and the NV-A in Belgium demanding independence for Flanders. Both are legalised parties with a substantial electoral following, and I'm just naming a few examples.
