The right to self-determination is an universal right that the UK, as founding member of the UN, has pledged to respect. The problem here is not Irish nationalism, but rather, lingering British imperialism.

  3. The Good Friday Agreement is a British-Irish agreement. The USA was involved in bringing it about; the EU wasn't. Ireland would have to rope in the EU. To me, this sounds like yet another problem of your own making, and now you expect the EU to present a ready-made solution on a silver platter.
