@billyungen Not all former colonies are so daft as to consider Russia a champion against colonialism. Kenya’s UN ambassador denounced Russia at the UNGA and drew parallels between the Ukraine crisis and Africa’s colonial past. At least Kenya sees Russia for what it is: a past and present colonial power.

You're conveniently ignoring the fact that both Russia and China have been actively sanctioning Iran, too, on account of Iran's illicit nuclear activities. On the other hand, you seem completely oblivious that IMF comes under the UN. Hence, Russia and China, in addition to 188 other countries, Western and non-Western, are members. In just two senctences, you managed to make quite a fool of yourself.

Oh, Saudi Arabia will still accept payment in dollars and euros.

@peterporkeresq.2817 Come on, let us hear your "alternative truth" about the etymology of "BRICS".

@dxelson All the Western countries maintain diplomatic relations with Russia and vice versa. Let me tell you, it's not hugs and kisses.

@Ashlesh.... You'll find that India's "strong relations with west [sic]" have taken a hit. Support for India's UNSC bid is waning after it was discovered that India's moral backbone still leaves something to be desired.

@lionking1382 You're calling Kenya's UN ambassador a liar? I don't know how the defamation laws in Kenya work, but if they're copied from British law, you may have a problem on your hands. Pray tell, how is it apparent that Kenyans stand with Russia? Kenya has consistently voted against Russia at the UNGA. You may also pick better allies in your supposed fight against imperialism. Putin's Russia is imperialist to the hilt, as Kenya's ambassador to the UN correctly noted.

@lionking1382 I'm not Kenyan myself, no, but you're insinuating that the government of Kenya doesn't enjoy a popular mandate. For your information, UN ambassadors don't go solo when they cast their vote at the UNGA. They may be top diplomats, but they're still messengers. I made no threats. I brought it to your attention that under your own laws, you're probably liable to prosecution for defamation. I did you a favour, so you won't fall foul of your own laws. It was common practice that former colonies took over laws from their erstwhile colonial masters. As it happens, my country of birth kept many aspects of the Napoleonic Code even after French occupation ended. I pity you for having to live in a puppet theatre, even if it's just in your mind. Have you heard about the saying that countries have the leaders they deserve? You have passive suffrage right? Run for office.
