@johnlenin830 It's a popularity contest. NATO is quite a hit, while Russia's contestant, CSTO, just isn't. Russia shouldn't complain because the alliance is both unpopular and unable to fulfil its commitments. That's why Armenia wants to quit CSTO.

Drones overwhelm air defences by their sheer number. It's not like the Russians came up with the idea. Some of their state-of-the-art AA systems have fallen victim to massed drone attacks in Syria and Libya, launched by Israel and Turkey.

@fsidesmith Patriots, while effective against Saddam's Scuds, aren't ideal against slow and low-flying drones. Turkey has reported a similar problem with Russia's S-400, once so beloved by Erdogan. CIWS is effective, but suffers from limited range. The same goes for MANPADS. Ukraine can and should protect high-value targets, but the problem is that Russia hits civilian targets just as eagerly. You can't put a CIWS on every apartment building.

@johnlenin830 It's very much about popularity. NATO expands by popular demand. The populations of the new entrants literally demand that they join. Which treaties has this democratic expansion of NATO broken? Please be specific. Don't try to play the Russophobia card. We've always had Russians living in our midst, on every level of society. No one bats an eye.
