@beansmith2465 You're clearly not in the know. Germany has scores of politicians of Indian ancestry. The former mayor of Bonn, the capital of West Germany, is a notable example. I first heard of him from DW.

She could continue to run as an independent and upset the stagnant duopoly. If a clear majority of voters -- as Axios suggests -- feel neither Trump nor Biden should run, there's a spark of hope for an independent candidate.

@nuqwestr I suspect DeSantis already landed the Veep job, in exchange for quickly bowing out as per Trump's request.

@Biga101011 I fear you're right. That's why I wrote "spark of hope". But Haley could earn political capital by positioning herself as a dissident within the party. It would come in handy when the GOP finally overcomes the Trump disease.

It's interesting to see how the US copying its electoral system from its erstwhile foe -- Great Britain -- landed it in a quagmire it can't pull itself out of. I can't think of a better indication that the system has failed you than Axios's recent finding that a clear majority of Americans wouldn't like either of the candidates to run. Yet you're stuck with them. With proportional representation, we're spoilt for choice.
