@TheUnknown187 Did you fail geography? Russia has unilaterally pushed its borders closer to NATO. And no, Russia doesn't get to carve out a sphere of influence for itself. The "sphere" gets to decide for themselves which alliances they join.

Give us an example of French or Polish double-dealing or blackmail. Don't be shy.

Care to give an example?

@TheUnknown187 So all you've got is whataboutism. Don't waste my time.

@Kasper He cowardly deleted his reply, too.

@jupiterbirlesikgezegenleri9884 Libyans are both for against Russia.

Entirely self-serving, more like. He'd just as easily screw over Putin given half the chance.

You need to take a gander at NATO's Article 5.
1
@rickjames18 It seems you don't understand either. Article 5 mandates that all NATO members to come to the aid of the attacked member, no ifs or buts. Without Article 5, NATO ceases to exist for all intents and purposes.
1
@rickjames18 They're not next because there's NATO and NATO has Article 5. Putin is so frantic about NATO expansion because it puts a stop to his imperialist ambitions. Once Ukraine is in NATO, it's hands off for Putin the Not-So-Great.
1
@rickjames18 I don't know of a more effective restraining order than Article 5. So far, Putin has respected it to the letter.

@rickjames18 We're seeing the dying embers of an empire that has effectively ceased to exist already. It only persists in Putin's warped mind. Xi Jinping is not interested in bailing out Putin at all cost. Also, he may be a dictator like Putin, but unlike Putin, he's got a party dictatorship to contend with. The CCP won't give Xi carte blanche to deal with Taiwan as he pleases, especially not after Putin's Ukraine debacle.
