Comments by "peabase" (@peabase) on "UN mission to arrive in Nagorno-Karabakh as almost all Armenians leave | DW News" video.
@delta_glider4362 One miniscule military exercise (85 US military personnel) does not an alliance make. Armenia is still formally in a military alliance -- CSTO -- with Russia, and economically it's allied too, as in the Eurasian Economic Union. Let's have Armenia formally end those alliances and enter into new ones with the US. Then we can speak of a US alliance.

@Minposu123 Can't disagree there. I think it important to expose Russian lies and betrayal for what they are.

They're actually supposed to apply for asylum in Armenia proper first. At some stage, they could be resettled in the EU, but no assurances.

@_AbrahamL You don't offer any arguments in defence of your claim. We do, CSTO and EAEU. As such, Armenia is formally allied with Russia, while Azerbaijan is not. That Russia betrays its allies is another matter altogether. CSTO died a slient death with the non-implementation of its Article 4. The bottom fell out.

Oh, Armenia has begged and pleaded, but Russia is otherwise engaged. And if Russia's finest Kontraktniks weren't able to beat Ukraine's citizen soldiers, how would they fare against the well-armed and battle-hardened Azeris? Azerbaijan practically pioneered drone warfare, which has cost Russia dearly in Ukraine.

@delta_glider4362 Stories, huh? Which part deviates from the truth, "bro"? Armenia and Russia are engaged in a very public spat, in case you haven't noticed. Armenia was -- and still is -- fuming at Russia for not rushing to its aid, as CSTO Article 4 mandates. The 85 US military visitors and Armenia's threat to join the ICC are just meant to put Russia's nose out of joint.

Can't Armenia ask the Eurasian Economic Union, i.e. Russia for help? Armenia is a proud(?) member.

Wasn't Russia supposed to keep the peace in Nagorno-Karabakh? They've got 2,000 peacekeepers over there. So shouldn't you appeal to Russia for help instead? Russia happens to be in the UN Security Council as well, and as a self-proclaimed superpower, they should be able to act alone.
