  4. Sure, they owe Putin. Just like Putin became top NATO's recruiter, Putin is a top salesman of not only American arms, but Western ones in general. What makes the feat all the more significant is that in the process, Putin sacrificed his own arms industry. Former big customers of Russia, such as India, are taking their business to the US and France as we speak. Putin is incredibly selfless (read: really, really dumb).
