Comments by "peabase" (@peabase) on "Putin to strike Finland ahead of NATO entry? Helsinki rushes to strengthen border with Russia" video.
@J.M.254 Then explain how 141 UN members came to condemn Russia for its illegal invasion of Ukraine. A measly 4, apart from Russia itself, supported the action.

Interestingly, too, a lot of the troops won't be coming back. Ukrainian farmers are grateful for the fertilizer and the tanks.
8
Yet Finland has whipped the bully's butt on several occasions. Can you say the same?
7
You're blind to your own hypocrisy. NATO hasn't been exactly proactive in arming its easternmost members with nuclear weapons. Poland, for instance, joined in 1999, but has yet to see any nuclear weapons on its soil. Vice versa, Russia has them in Kaliningrad, which borders Poland.
6
That's what Stalin thought in 1939, too. Just like with Putin's abortive advance on Kyiv, parade uniforms and band instruments were recovered from the dead. Putin should keep parading his army in Moscow, that's what it's good for.
6
You're not the sharpest pencil in the cup. The whole point of Finland joining NATO is its Article 5, which means that NATO's combined manpower will be brought to bear against Russia should it try to invade Finland. The EU is doing well, thank you very much. There's always a queue of would-be members. Ukraine, Moldova and Georgia are only the latest examples.

The Finnish president is male. As an Indian, you should know about prime ministers and presidents.
4
That's not how NATO works, sport. You may be too young to remember, but the Yanks were dying to make their not-so-successful WMD hunt in Iraq a NATO affair, but the "old Europeans" strenuously declined. In NATO, decisions are based on consensus.
4
Are you in the mistaken belief that Finland isn't in the EU already? You're 27 years behind, boyo.
4
@J.M.254 I'm referring to the UNGA vote, which was super clear on what the world thinks of Russia. Sanctions are another matter altogether. Many countries have no appreciable trade with Russia, or as developing countries, they can ill-afford to sanction anyone, period. Refraining from sanctioning Russia is not tantamount to supporting Russia. So, what concrete evidence do you have of international support for Russia? The only verifiable African supporter is Eritrea, and in Asia, there's just North Korea and Syria. In North and South America, not single country saw fit to support Russia.

How dark is it on the Dark Side?
3
@SecularSlayer1984 Tut-tut. We got -- and are getting -- quite a few IT pros from Russia. They get to rub shoulders with Indian IT pros, also lured to Finland by our booming IT industry.
3
@funnyoldworld6894 I would guess none, because they all condemned Russia. If they did blame "the West", they wouldn't have condemned Russia, right?
2
@funnyoldworld6894 Even at the height of the Cold War, the East and the West still kept trading. It didn't mean they were supportive of one another.
1
@aminatadasilva2044 The two most populous countries, China and India, abstained. Abstaining is not supporting. My, aren't you desperate for excuses.
1
Nothing to lose? Last time they did, the Russians lost close to a million men.
1
@calvinblue894 Are you his sock puppet or vice versa?
1
@calvinblue894 You have too high an opinion of yourself. It's painfully obvious that the OP, who evidently can't answer for himself, tried to play the hypocrisy card. You can't see it, but it's not applicable here.
1
@calvinblue894 To answer your question, I have a double masters, in history and political science. Like I wrote, you have too high an opinion of yourself.
1
Russia should work itself loose and replant itself next to India. Russia's European neighbours don't fear it, but if your opinion is anything to go by, India clearly does. Russia likes its neighbours intimidated.
1
You Indians preparing against Chinese military incursions is bound to anger China as well. Don't do it! Appeasing aggressors is much safer!
1
@Anonymus Anon You might as well aim it at Moscow. When were you diagnosed as suicidal sociopath?
1
@Anonymus Anon Cockroaches won't be able to tell the difference. After nuclear holocaust, they'll inherit the world.
1
@tuyizereteanclaude1431 I've got good news for you. Russia is stocking up on cannon fodder.
1
"Under its control"? There's a mutual consensus forming that no permanent NATO bases will be established in Finland, US-manned or otherwise. Also, NATO operates on the basis of consensus. You're peddling conspiracy theories.
1
@AnotherAnalyst Thank you for your unfounded opinion -- I'll be sure to file it in my Recycle Bin.
1
@paulfaber6227 Ah, another suicidal sociopath. Get help.
1
Perhaps it has something to do with Russia's unprovoked attack against Ukraine, another peaceful neighbour of Russia's. But rest assured, Russia will get poked in the eye if it strays across the Finnish border.
1
@SecularSlayer1984 So, you're advocating that Putin nukes the IT engineers he's lost to the West. You do realise their Indian colleagues wouldn't make it out alive either? And neither would you. Nuclear winter is a bitch.
1
@sonya2916 Are you forgetting that Putin's army got an ass-kicking in Ukraine? Except for die-hard Putin fanboys and fangirls, no one's impressed with Russia's military prowess of late.
