  11. He's certainly no great economist. Putin alienated the best customers of "the gas station that masquerades as a country", setting Russia on a course to economic doom. In two years tops, the Russian economy will be running on fumes. And China isn't helping.

  13. Face it, Russia's arms exports are becoming but a distant dream. They were in decline even before Russia started fomenting trouble in Ukraine, to say nothing of the actual invasion putting a complete stop to them. High-tech arms need trustworthy suppliers, and Russia isn't one for a variety of reasons. China is poised to take over the low-tech market, too. Arms manufacturers the world over should remember Putin with a gift basket for leaving the international arms market, and for creating almost insatiable demand.
