  13.  @rd123.  Britain never owned Palestine. Britain had a League of Nations mandate to administer the territory till it was ready for self-administration. Arabs held land rights, as did Jewish inhabitants. The nascent UN's partition plan heavily favoured the Jews, which expectedly angered the Arab inhabitants. It was a major screw-up on the UN's part -- a blunder with long-term repercussions. It's about time historic wrongs are set right, or the conflict will last another 75 years.

  23. ​ @bradrichards8122  I wouldn't count too much on the Phalanx when the Houthis launch ballistic missiles, like they've done many times over by now. When (or if) it manages to destroy an incoming missile, the range will be such that the ship is likely to be showered by burning fuel and debris. The Phalanx, like CIWS in general, is a weapon of last resort. It's dangerous to friend and foe.

A great many Palestinians can trace their ancestry back to Jews, Samaritans and Christians. In fact, Palestinian Jews, Samaritans and Christians exist to this very day. It just got harder for China to negotiate international agreements, as the other side will seek additional guarantees that China will keep their side of the bargain.
