  3.  @Mail2sumit88  It just so happened that the Norwegians had a 787 at their disposal. Airbus A340s have landed on Antartica before.

  4.  @Mail2sumit88  I know about aircraft engineering. That's what I was specifically referring to. The A350 is largely made of carbon composites, even more so than the 787. Airbus customers forced Airbus to go above and beyond in reducing weight.

  6. I'm sure they have carefully checked the auxiliary power unit before attempting this sort of thing. Hot refuelling is not advised -- that is, if they had to refuel.
