Simply not true. A few fringe party candidates wanted out. None of the major candidates demanded a split. Even Marine Le Pen did so only conditionally.

+Ken Cooper Marine Le Pen's official pre-election position was that France should leave the eurozone and that unless the EU reverts to a loose coalition, there should be a referendum on France's departure. I call that conditional.

+Ken Cooper I'm not denying that she's anti-EU. However, in terms of election promises, she watered down her views, obviously cognisant of the fact that the French are not done with the EU -- something which they forcefully expressed by electing Macron instead. Marine should've done more watering-down, because even her revised views were rejected.

The French aren't grumbling about Macron's views on the EU, but rather, his labour reforms. They knew what was coming. Europe has seen waves of immigrants in the past, invited ones and not so invited ones. I lived through one in Holland, and the country was none the worse for it. To be brutally honest about it, we need taxpayers, and the domestic supply is dwindling.
