  1. You're confused with the French, who take a dim view of military rifles and cartridges in civilian hands. There are still a lot of Finnish Mosin-Nagants around in Finland, including my grandfather's that I keep in my gun cabinet. I bagged my first elk (that's moose for the Americans) with it. Sako, too, still makes the bespoke 7.62x53R ammunition for them. The same goes for 7.62x39, which I used with my Sako M92S.
