@sRazor96 That's right, and the Norwegian Krag-Jørgensen and the Swedish Mauser used the same 6.5x55mm ammunition. The Germans famously used the Norwegian rifle and the ammo in the Battle of Narvik.

We pried a lot of Soviet Mosin-Nagants from cold, dead hands.

Very few would be my guesstimate. The overwhelming majority of the Sweden Finns made their way to Sweden during the 1950s and 1970s.

@bernhardb4711 No wonder, Hitler and Stalin were allies until 1941. No honour among thieves.

The rifles you're referring to weren't Arisakas, but Vetterlis. The responsible Japanese general was Akashi Motojiro, and about a thousand or so of these so-called "Grafton rifles" did make their way into the hands of Finnish revolutionaries.

@CandidZulu That's just no true. We have native Swedish-speakers in Uleåborg, 400 klicks north of Närpes.

@borjesvensson8661 True that. My family switched from native Swedish to bilingual and then exclusively Finnish. My nieces and nephews will just smile if we try to speak Swedish to them. There was no shortage of bilingual speakers in the Finnish army. My uncle commanded a company of Swedish volunteers in the Continuation War. He called them the bravest soldiers he ever served with, but I guess they were the cream of the (Swedish) crop.

It depends on who you ask. The Canadian Rangers use them, and so does the Danish Sirius Dog Sled Patrol that operates in Greenland.
