Who have we divided now? The only division I can think of is Russia dividing itself from the world, but that's all Putin's doing.

@surojeetchatterjee Uh-oh, Dunning-Kruger effect spotted. IFF has been a thing for the better part of a century. Also, I just specifically mentioned the Patriot and the F-16. You're going on about the F-35, as if it's the first plane to carry IFF.

Faire l'amour toute la nuit? These developing countries must be quite taken with Macron. Ooh la la.

Myanmar just took delivery of two spanking new Su-30 multirole fighter jets, with four more awaiting delivery. Actions cause reactions.

@mdsaifulislam-qw7yc You must be in the mistaken belief that I'm American. How did you jump to that conclusion? So, India doesn't love foreigners?

@mdsaifulislam-qw7yc You and the OP are apparently trying to implicate "the West" in "dividing the world". I'm merely curious what that is about. If you specifically want to blame the US for divisionary tactics, then be specific.

@mithunmusabbir9444 I'm confused, is "the West" planning to sell Rafales to Bangladesh or just France? You always make such sweeping statements, as if we in "the "West" are always making all decisions in unison. Mind you, I wish we did, because France can be very non-judgemental in its arms sales.

@surojeetchatterjee You may find that India's S-400 won't engage Chinese jets when push comes to shove. China, as the more important partner to Russia, may compel the latter to sell it Russian IFF transponders that shout "Friendly!" to the S-400. No missiles will leave the launcher. It's interesting to note that Turkey's Patriot wouldn't engage Turkish F-16s involved in the coup attempt against Erdogan, because the US system considered them friendly. Hence, Erdogan wanted the S-400, even though that ruined his chances of getting F-35s.

@surojeetchatterjee There's the Dunning-Kruger effect again. IFF and data link are not the same difference. Each country may have its own IFF codes, but US IFF kit has a multi-part code, which makes it impossible for NATO SAMs to engage NATO aircraft, as Erdogan found out to his chagrin. The Russians would be foolish not to have built in a similar capability into their S-400. You may be in denial, but the Turks, who're in NATO, are keenly aware that their S-400 may not engage Russian aircraft, which is why they've retained their US SAMs.
