  1. Token wins at great cost in equipment and most of all, Ukrainians. Those men are irreplaceable, and the backbone of Ukraine, which is breaking them for the whims and egos of a very small group of people who don't care about anyone but themselves. It's a sorry chapter in history, and I have a hard time seeing Russia as the bad guy. The U$A would freak out if a Russian-backed military aimed at the U$A was built in Mexico. Does no one remember history? Does anyone really think Russia's paranoid, after Napoleon and Hitler? Every 80 or 100 years, incestuous West goes crazy and invades.

  2. I see it the opposite way. Russia gained much ground with a small force, and give up ground rather than sacrifice troops. "Meat grinder" describes Ukrainian efforts to regain territory, for propaganda victories. Russia seems more willing to spend lives as mobilization continues and Ukrainian forces grow more brittle. Ukraine's economy is in tatters. Russia's is growing. Ukraine's lost half its population, down from 40 million to 20 million. Corruption and foreign influence and interference (2014 coup has "CIA" written all over it) have already been the undoing of Ukraine as a viable, sovereign state. Without U4A $$$, Ukraine government operations grind to a halt. A very small number of people in Ukraine and U$A got really rich from all this, and everyone else in U$A and Ukraine suffered.

  3. These attacks deep in Russian territory only confirm the security concerns behind Russian aggression. Ukraine is only hardening Russian resolve and aggression. Every successful strike in Crimea only makes Russia want a bigger buffer zone.
