  1. You're not a crazy liberal. That's good. But you still think government should be the main source of charity for people who need help, and government solutions just make the problems they set out to solve bigger and bigger. The incentives are all upside-down for taxpayer, recipient, and government bureaucrat, plus any mistake made by one bureaucrat or politician has life-or-death consequences for millions of people at the same time. If you're truly liberal and want to help people, volunteer to help people. Donate to charity. Vote for smaller government. You'll be able to contribute more to charities YOU like, rather than being forced to contribute to what the politicians think is best (and get the most kickbacks for).
