@marks6663 : The Libertarians are correct about open borders, long term. But not in a world where South of the border do not respect the rights of their people. If all governments DID respect the rights of their people and were truly limited, national borders would be more or less irrelevant - and ultimately should be. But as long as there are a vast majority of countries who believe in unlimited government size and scope, those who are doing things more correctly (limited government) need to defend their borders to protect their way of life. And until we totally go nuts and impose our ways on everybody else, by force, we just need to protect our borders and our unique form of self government.
