  1. Tough to pander to all sides at the same time. Rifts in the Democrat hegemony are growing. The government is trying to be all things to all people, when its actual role is pretty limited, dull and boring. If it stuck to its REAL responsibilities, Congress would meet for a few weeks, agree that they got it pretty much right the previous session, and spend all its time overseeing the military-industrial complex.

  3. I used to identify as a conservative. Now, it's clear that I was always a libertarian constitutionalist. Conservatives seem to be just like Democrats, when it comes to power. They don't really question the expansion of the government into all aspects of our lives and the economy. They just want to be the ones calling those shots, when a libertarian would say "Those aren't your shots to call in the first damn place!"

  4. It's not slip-shod foreign policy. It's foreign policy based on the selfish aims, illusions and delusions of the puppet masters in the permanent bureaucracy and the donor class. It's ruinous, but the Biden administration is more or less following the lead of its "experts," most of whom are appointed on the basis of a political litmus test rather than on the basis of competence.
