@PenTheMighty EVERY ONE OF THOSE LOANS is backed by the valuation of existing properties. The developer makes a very high estimate of the value of their existing holdings. The bank says "No, that's too much," and they negotiate, until both sides are happy. The state of New York is basically trying to outlaw negotiations in business. It's a ridiculous ruling that should be struck down on appeal. If it's not struck down, it's further proof of the weaponization of the courts against conservatives.

I've towed trailers of all kinds, and while I THINK I could learn to drive a semi, it is DEFINITELY a skill. I wouldn't want to do it. There's just no margin for error. I remember as a kid, Dad would tell us "When in doubt, just fall in behind a trucker. Give him room and you'll get where you're trying to get." Then SWIFT came along, and things sort of changed. SWIFT trucks are trainees, and they don't know what they're doing. But other companies? 99% good drivers.
