  1. Yes. That's why Trump surprised Dems with DACA concession during the last shutdown. Caught 'em with their pants down in the last stand-off, which ended up hurting Democrats. Much the same situation, now. Their illogical position does NOT sell in the heartland OR in the inner city. This is a win for Trump. Seeing it coming a mile away doesn't change the fact for Democrats. They're stuck between pandering to a leftist core constituency, for whom they can't possibly be left enough, which makes them too far left to appeal to the broad center and center-left. This is something I couldn't've imagined 5 years ago. Dems had it all their own way. Divide and conquer has THEM divided, JUST when they were on the cusp of irrevocable slide to fascist/socialist system.
