  2. Personally, I think the Iranians understood exactly what the assassination of Soleimani was. "You did this. We did that. Let's try again. Wanna be friends?" What they might not understand is that the WW III !!!! headlines and story lines in the American print and t.v. Fake News are not representative of what America's thinking or what the administration's thinking. Possibly the most destabilizing force of all, right now, is irresponsibly partisan legacy news media. Most of us see a president looking to disengage from the Middle East and leave it up to the people who are close by to manage their own affairs. But he's carrying the baggage of decades of misguided interventions, and he can't pull out without leaving a vacuum that sucks the area into chaos. And meanwhile, everybody with a 'D' after their name is ceaselessly stirrin' up shit.
