Trying to operate on the federal level with no regard for your district/state is pretty much what Hillary did, running for (and winning) a senate seat from New York. That's all these elected offices are to these people. A vehicle to something else. They're not in it just to serve the people for a term or two and return to reality. At no point have I ever taken Bernie Sanders seriously. He's either a cynical SOB or an idiot. Neither wears well.
