  2. Agree to shill for the establishment for power, wealth and influence, and you seal your doom. The temporary advantages are undeniable, but eventually, intentionally or not, it will be your end. Auto makers LOVED government interventions. Squeezed out the competition. Guaranteed them fat profits. For a time. Now they make super-expensive crap that no one wants to buy and they're going broke, and there's nothing they can do about it, because they lost their independence and are hemmed in on all sides by all the things the government says they can't do.
