  4. I think it's reasonable to expect people to have some training before purchasing a firearm. That's what we all did when I was growing up. Hunter's Safety. "How do you know when a gun is unloaded?" "All guns are loaded." "When is it OK to point a gun at somebody?" "It's never OK to point a gun at somebody." Teach our kids firearm safety as part of the normal curriculum, and they're certified to purchase a firearm for the rest of their lives.
