  1. The new right is a libertarian-flavored old left. The original kind of left, in a postmodern setting, where the lords and ladies we stood up to 250 years ago are now the directors and agency apparatchiks, who have all the privileges and perform all the functions we got tired of blue-bloods doing, centuries ago. Our volunteer fire department's pretty good, thank you. The town pitched in and built a new wing for the hospital and hired another doctor. We're the original "Ya know, we think we can handle this life stuff and build a better future for our kids if you all just leave us alone" people.
