  1. In the East, those conquerors of the past are history of which they are proud, and Turks yearn for Ottoman dominance. Only cultures based on reason in the West have ever questioned the righteousness of "Manifest Destiny." The Chinese believe THEY should rule the world. The Iranians remember Persian empires. The Egyptians... The Saudis.... Name it. The whole rest of the world has zero guilt about their past imperial glory, and yearn for a return to those days. To THEM, the USA's guilt about their own expansion over the N. American continent is RIDICULOUS and WEAK. So is giving people a say in how they are ruled. RIDICULOUS. WEAK. And yet, liberty makes people more productive and more inventive, because the productive/inventive person actually gets to KEEP the wealth generated by their creativity.
