  2. @VOREVOX : Yes, and they'll act superior to you, because they own a Prius, which uses half the gas of your (and my) vehicle, while they put 10 times as many miles on their car, every day, as the people they look down on. And it doesn't suit their type to see their hypocrisy.

  3. Trickle-down does work. Rich folks will invest in productive ventures when taxes are lower. When taxes are higher, the benefits don't offset the risk, and rich people won't take the risk. Bernie's pals in Scandinavia understand this, with capital-gains taxes that are a tiny fraction of capital-gains taxes in the USA. The trouble with my "faith" is that when taxes are high, it's impossible to point to the new ventures that never came into being. So I essentially believe in something that can't be seen! All I can do is point to the explosion in investment and jobs that always takes place when there's tax relief. I feel like I'm in the Adam Smith cult, with total faith in the Invisible Hand that lifts up everyone, when people are permitted to trade freely between each other. Such people are moral, many because it's right, but all because if you cheat somebody today, you've lost their business for all your tomorrows.
