@birdgirl1516 : Oh, there's a lot of "what to think" that goes into it. Children are a blank slate. The problem lies in feeding them lies and misinformation.

john m : That's a lot like how I see it. If all you know is the city, you don't understand what it takes to make all that shit possible. So you make up a lot of shit about how the world works, and there's nothing and nobody to prove you wrong, until you see the disastrous results. Even then, you can just make up MORE shit to explain it and blame it on everything EXCEPT your own stupid ideas. I love Jordan Peterson for this reason. So many people out to change the world, but ignorant of the world, who insist on making BIG problems they didn't even imagine to solve some small problem with a sledgehammer. Hence the admonition: "First, clean your room." Get YOUR shit together before making everybody else do whatever crazy thing occurs to you after smokin' a fattie.

@ogenmatic : It's not robbery. It's a "mandatory reallocation of misallocated resources."
2
@NefariousKoel : People understand this, but they think they're gonna get $100 for every $10 they put in, because that OTHER guy needs to pay HIS fair share and ISN'T! it's just pure ugliness, ignorance, selfishness and stupidity.

If these environmentalist kooks get their way, the first thing to go will be the trees that people cut down to stay warm.

You underestimate the insidiousness of taxing corporations and big business. That's the ONLY way to tax poor people without calling it a tax on poor people. "Soak the rich!" sounds great, but really all it amounts to is "Make the poor pay more for everything, starting with energy. It's good for their souls to freeze in the winter, fry in the summer, and lose jobs because they can't afford transportation." Make no mistake. If Bernie's SPENDING more and actually finding the revenue to do so, his plan will disproportionately harm the poor. It's all just 3-card monte approved by Ponzi.

@MVargic : Yes. It's atrocious. I apologize for my fellow Americans, but I assure you that I never voted for any of that shit.

CO2-driven climate change requires that you cook the books to eliminate the cooling that took place from the blistering-hot 30s and 40s until the late 70s. I think the coldest year was 1978 or 1979, and so that's what the global warming people focus on as their starting point for their calculations. They focus on (and inflate) the warming trend from the 70s through the 90s. These things are cyclical, and there's zero indication that what we've experienced the last 100 years is any different from thousands of cycles that came, before. These same people were pushing for huge government intervention and power grabbing, to combat the impending ICE AGE during the 1970s. A handful of Chicken Little's trying to stampede everybody else into authoritarian/socialist rule is what it pretty much looks like, to me. Reports of the melting ice caps turn out to be vastly overblown. The extinction of the polar bear doesn't square with the facts. The elephant seal committing suicide (due to depression over climate change, reportedly) was being CHASED by a polar bear! LOL! This is plainly a theory in search of facts, rather than a hypothesis supported by the facts with a snowball's chance of rising to the level of a legitimate theory. Same as "muh racism."
