  1. DeSantis has taken some courageous stands that turned out to be the correct stands. But he lost me when he flipped a 180 and sided with the war machine on Ukraine. If the USA truly respected the principle of national sovereignty, it wouldn't have engineered a coup in Ukraine in 2014. We've been poking the bear to no sane purpose for years. I lay the Ukrainian genocide at the doorstep of our own leaders. It's hard to say what Trump might've done to put a stop to our top officials' crooked relationships with Ukrainian oligarchs. The closest he came was a phone call that the Democrats impeached him for. I still don't know if Trump's a good guy or a trojan horse who's just appealing enough on the one hand, and incompetent on the other, to keep the liberty-minded Americans from finally getting fed up with the lot. The hope he seems to bring is always thwarted at the key moment. Weak and vacillating during COVID, doing just what the establishment wanted at the crucial moment. He succumbed to the hysteria and gave the technocrats carte blanche.
