  1. This would be almost as bad. They're clearly breaking the law. The law should be able to handle this. It is very dangerous to see police state as the preferred alternative to rule of law. They need to arrest, prosecute, convict, and incarcerate these bastards for breaking laws in place long before 9/11 created the police state infrastructure and rationale justifying it.

  2. I believe they identified the guy who threw the IED you discussed in your opener. He was identified by his grandmother's positive product review of the vest she bought him to indulge his LARPing activities. FWIW, he's also a fuckin' litterbug, as seen in one clip of amazingly abundant street video of him in Portland, sporting that green vest he loves so much, and which Grandma gives a 5-star rating and would buy again, apparently.
