Not a Admin You can throw up a good-sized quonset for pretty cheap. One of the good things about a barndominium is you can park and live in an RV and do the finished bits, inside, on a pay-as-you-go schedule, so it's never overwhelming. A lot of the expense is needing to get everything done all at once. But maybe you take a few months scrounging and looking for deals before you have the materials for the next project. Thing is, you don't start with much, but you instantly have a great shop and the first part of the "house" that gets built is the greatroom!

@Mykah Shalom Not even Jim Crow could hold down the black man, but Democrat entitlement programs sure have. When they were slavers, they used force to separate fathers from wives and children. After they lost on Jim Crow and the Civil Rights Act of 1964, they switched to the "means testing strategy." You want the free stuff, there can't be a father around. We find you with the father around, and we want the father to contribute. They incentivized getting pregnant with no plan and no father, and that's just what they got.

@lynyngragfunkyfoot3765 People forget that the Crime Bill of 1994 that resulted in the incarceration of so many black, nonviolent offenders, was at the urging of black community leaders, determined to eliminate the scourge of crack cocaine on the streets. The crack was seen as the biggest threat to the black community and so they took a "get tough" attitude towards drug violations of every sort. It just made everything worse. Raised the stakes and raised the profits for those who could get away with trafficking in it. Just like de-funding the police. People see a problem and latch on to one thing as a cure-all, without really thinking it through, because the people making public policy are unprincipled panderers, and since the community was screaming for harsher sentences, that's what they gave them.

@cable30 The higher the price goes, the more worthwhile it is to add value to the property. You'll see 1993 mobile homes with gold-plated kitchen and bathroom fixtures and full tile bathrooms. Greenhouse extensions and build-outs will become standard fare.

You tend to panic when you've got a dead body on your hands. Believe me. I know. (j/k)

Actually, the judge would have to recuse herself or leave a 4-lane highway to an appeal.

@РайанОльшевскі Yup. A punk is a punk.

Don't feed the bears!

@The Wandering M ... plus, we're getting really good at building barndominiums.

I'm sorry but there's nothing instinctive about driving into an oncoming vehicle. You have to consciously override your instincts to pull that off. "This is gonna hurt...."

They said the area in question was the/a likely location for him that his parents initially gave to the FBI. It didn't sound like they were holding out. Who knows whose remains they found?

Looks like Dad's gonna die in prison. The son will be out in 3 years, at worst, would be my guess. You've gotta wonder what they thought was so valuable they needed to come out with guns blazing. Gotta wonder if it was a stash house or something. Maybe just an older guy from Central or South America, where there's less law and order.

@davidturner2233 C'mon, man.

@jbcfamily4802 If he'd fought the charges, it could've gone to 2nd-degree.

Not a smart man.

People upset by his brutality immediately start talking about how brutally they want to treat him. Ironic.
