  1. In asymmetric warfare, anything goes, be they guerrillas in Spain torturing French soldiers or French partisans torturing Nazis. I'm not saying it's wrong, but people snap when they're pushed too far. People snap when they're in a constant state of fear and anxiety. This perpetual state of tension and conflict wouldn't exist to nearly the same degree if the USA, at Britain's urging, didn't carry out the Balfour Declaration (in essence), without consulting any of the people living in the region. We were arrogant in the late '40s. We felt the wrong done to the Jewish people justified the carving out of a Jewish nation, by force, without the consent of the majority of people living there. We can bicker about the most recent atrocities or we can take a step back and realize that our use of force in the region has only made things worse for 10s of millions of people in the Middle East. Does the Mafia Don obtain the moral high ground by handing out free turkeys on Thanksgiving? Millions were done dirty by the Israel Project. In the years since Israel was created, it has been the West's proxy in its imperial ambitions and the West has been Israel's proxy. It's a marriage made in Hell.
