So, by any means necessary? What good does it to gain the world, if you lose your soul? "End justifies the means" was what we fought AGAINST in World War II. Now WE say "The end justifies the means." Something wrong with that picture. Is Hamas barbaric? Yes. Were Spanish guerrillas barbaric in the Peninsular War against Napoleon? Yes. It's the nature of asymmetric warfare.

Zionism is not Judaism. Defeat of Hitler's failed, would-be ethno-state is not justification for the creation of an ethno-state by force, by foreign powers, 1/4 of the way across the planet. There were many Christians and Muslims thrown off their land by this "just cause." Holocaust against Jews does not justify holocaust against non-Jews. Until you address this, and the corrupting influence of the USA on Israel and vice-versa, you're going to be stuck in forever war. We don't need Israel as our proxy in the Middle East, and Jews do not need the USA as their proxies in the Middle East. Many rabbis are in opposition to the Zionist Project. Many Jews do not believe that the creation of the state of Israel, by force, from without, is pleasing to God. That begs the question of what to do, now, but we should be on a trajectory to the withdrawal of the USA/NATO from the Middle East. Those are not our lands to be governed by us. Abraham Accords offered some hope. But if the only way to maintain your ethno-state is atrocity, you need to re-think. Israel is locked in an existential fight that will go on, forever, if nothing changes. Surrounding nations are locked in a struggle against external forces that wish to re-draw the map of the region by military force, and maintain it by military force. That's not God's way. That's man's way.

@JohnDoe-jw5lf I'm not justifying Hamas. I'm not even mad at Israel for doing what it's doing to survive. I'm saying that the current state of Israel was created by force by foreign powers, and it can only be preserved by force by foreign powers. It's like watching a bear fighting a tiger in a pit. The bear's not at fault. The tiger's not at fault. The people who pitted them against one another are at fault.

@JohnDoe-jw5lf So you're saying they used force to impose their will. And the fact is that Israel is an ethno state that practices apartheid. If they don't need anybody, then how about the USA stop forcing billions in economic and military aid sent to Israel each year. You're living a dream. It's a false dream, but at least you're living it.

I don't blame Israel for everything, but I do blame the arrogance of Western Allies to go straight from defeating fascism to carving out a nation in the Middle East by force. Because we could. Because we love our religion and Israel. Because we interpreted ancient texts to please ourselves and justify our use of force, without regard for the people living in Palestine.

The ends do not justify the means, and the current state of Israel is built on blood and foreign might. Without massive infusions of foreign (U.S.) capital, armaments and military support, Israel wouldn't last long. I wish no ill on Israel, but I feel under no obligation to support an apartheid state, either. How do you righteously defeat a would-be ethno state, only to create and maintain an ethno-state of your own? The means employed (required!) to maintain the ethno-state make Israel exactly the opposite of what it should be. If God's Plan is for there to be an Israel, does God approve of how it is being done? I think not.

Shapiro is notorious for debating lightweights. I'd like to see him debate Norman Finkelstein or Max Blumenthal or any of the many rabbis who disagree with the Zionist Project.
