They have over 100 years of colonial and post-colonial bad practices buttressing their position, even though everyone knows that the Balfour Declaration, however well-intended, wasn't within England's or the USA's authority to carry out by force, and was done without the consent of every Palestinian who lost their land and their home, so that Allied nations could feel like they did something for Holocaust survivors. That one great wrong does not justify the continued practice of re-drawing the map in the Middle East to suit European and American leaders. We made good on ONE of Britain's many promises, using force, and we have backed that prior use of force by never-ending shipments of arms and money to Israel (more force), ever since, against the wishes of the vast majority of people living in the region. It's a never-ending source of discontent and friction. It radicalizes Muslims. Many Muslims fought against the Ottomans during World War I. What about the promises made to them? And who were the British to even MAKE such promises about the dispositions of far-distant lands?
