Democracy is problematic, because it's so easy to con the majority into voting for bad ideas, especially for "free stuff." Even as we speak, even as Jimmy decries abuse of power and corrupt institutions, he pushes for more free stuff, making a sisyphus figure of himself, rolling the rock up the hill, only to find the rock back at the bottom of the hill all over again. I'm more of a 2/3 majority guy, myself. Make it so that 2/3 or more of us AGREE before we employ the monopoly on force vested in the government. That's basically all that's in the U.s. Constitution. 2/3-majority stuff.

The Illuminati thought it was all sunshine and roses, until the public became aware of them, and drove them underground. These people are PROUD of what they're doing for human progress. They think they have all the answers because they're so much smarter than the rest of us. These kinds of organizations always think they are The Enlightenment, when they're only a toxic/Final-solution-type offshoot of Enlightenment principles of reason and wanting to do good. The Nazis didn't see themselves as bad guys. They saw themselves bringing utopia to the world. Their ideas were "so good," any means to bring them about were justified. Like the Extinction Rebellion and Just stop Oil crowd. They KNOW they're righter and smarter than the rest of us and any harm caused is just collateral damage in a much bigger war, in which they are preventing the End of the World.
