He did everything he could to shut down oil production, but he couldn't control drilling on state and private lands, and so what happened was a big explosion of oil production, when the price of oil went high enough to make it profitable, and it was totally against Obama's wishes, until you see him at a function in Big Oil Country, where of course, the double-talking ass takes full credit for the increased oil production. Doing everything he COULD to raise the price of gas is what stimulated the drilling and the pumping, here at home. It became more profitable to frack.
