  1. What Jimmy still hasn't figured out is that all the authoritarian BS he decries is part and parcel of the nanny government his "true left" beliefs demand. As long as you want things like Med-4-All, Jimmy, you will always have this authoritarian dragon to fight, without understanding that you FED the dragon your entire adult life. Let go. Realize you're not going to save the whole world at once. Help the people close to you and encourage others to do the same. Resist "government as solution to the human condition," because you of all people should understand what "government solutions" look like. They put you on the slippery slope to "the final solution."

  2. Jimmy thinks the news was less controlled in "the good old days." In "the good old days" there were no alternatives to the big 3 networks and a handful of major newspapers setting the agenda for the whole country. The 15 billionaires controlling everything, including the Congress, is BECAUSE of so-called "liberals," who insist that the scope of the federal government be expanded, to "save us." We only need saving from the government, Jimmy. It's always been this way.

  3. Oh, Jimmy won't like that "Constitutional Conservatism" thing. He thinks government should take care of us and now he's vainly seeking Mr. Goodbar to run a perfect nanny state, with saintly geniuses in all the top spots. Well, we all know how "Mr. Goodbar" turned out. Even if you find him, government spans multiple lifetimes, and that genius-saint you put in power at first is inevitably replaced by someone corrupt or incompetent or both, and they visit their incompetence on everyone all at once. Try your progressive schemes on the local level, Jimmy. Then see if that model can scale to the state level. I'm pretty sure you'll fail at the local level and the best you'll get is a really good charity organization that does good, but without the monopoly on force that the U.S. Government has over all 350 million of us. Progressives want the FEDERAL government to be the nanny government, so that everyone will be SAVED at the same time, without having to actually make your schemes sustainable on the local level. And if, by chance, your scheme IS sustainable on the local level, then you don't NEED the feds to come in and muck everything up with rules and regulations put in place by lobbyists in Washington! Malone is spot-on! I don't consider myself a "conservative." I'm more libertarian. A "conservative" is someone who'd outlaw gays, because we always did in the past. A libertarian is only concerned about both parties' informed consent, because gay relationships are no infringement on the rights of others. My only issue with homosexuals was their irresponsible and promiscuous sex that spread venereal diseases, and then expected me to pay for the hospital bill. No. You do "you," but you also PAY for "you." Eat all the pie and cake you want. But don't ask me to pay your doctor bills. I'll smoke all I want, and I'll pay my own freight. That doesn't mean I'm against helping others. I'm on the local food bank's speed dial. I gave a free car to the lady our local "Habitat for Humanity" built a house for. She zipped around town in that little car for YEARS. I've taken in homeless people. The last one I took in, I paid thousands of dollars for much-needed dental work. None of that had anything to do with the government. I didn't get a tax write-off or anything. I just know that if all the progressives campaigning for free stuff (like Med-4-All) did as much as I did, there wouldn't be much need for all the government programs you want. If there's not enough will in the populace to help their brothers in need, what more good do you think a government made up of members of that populace are going to be genius-saints?

  4. Yes. As U.S. foreign policy fails, abroad, they're turning their dirty tricks against the people, to keep the people from knowing what failures they are. They've been using FISA to get illegal warrants against dope peddlers. Just tell the FISC that the dealer's a suspected terrorist, and they can use NSA intercepts to build their case. Robert Mueller was a champion of what they call "Parallel Construction." Obtain evidence by illegal means, and then try to make it look like you came by it, honestly, never revealing that the key bit of information was via NSA intelligence. I think one of the reasons for open borders is to CREATE a real home-grown terrorist threat that "conservatives" so disappointingly fail to provide... so they can go after conservatives! Look at how easily the Patriot Act passed. I was alone in the wilderness saying "This is a bad idea" over 20 years ago. Congress has not even considered repealing the Patriot Act.
