The founding principles are solid. The problem is two-fold: 1. Voters always think that expanding the government to get something free from the government is a great idea, and that's when you're hooked. Jimmy Dore is still hooked. They never see the negative consequences down the road, as (for instance) health care imploding (from too much socialism not too little.). 2. Politicians who love to make promises with other people's money, rather than rolling up their sleeves and helping people out of their own pocket, with their own two hands. The more government "helps," the less we help each other.
