  1. I think Trump will be conspicuously pro-Israel, but he will also hold Israel to account. If they want to live in peace, I think he'll put a peace together. Raised Methodist American in the '60s and '70s, the older I get, the more I realize how ingrained the Israel Project is, and how it's all wrapped up in our exceptionalism and arrogance, with a twist of Victorian England. Britain never had a right to meddle in the region, and the Balfour Declaration is a sacred pronouncement it never had the authority to make, let alone carry out through its American proxies.

  2. Israel is an artificial country we created by force and maintain by force. It cannot be maintained without continued use of external force. It's not one of our United States. If Israel can stand on its own, why doesn't it? Look at how much we spend on Israel every year.
