If you want an end to lobbying, the first thing you would need to do is to give up your addiction to government interventions into everything, because as long as they legislate every aspect of our lives, there will be lobbying for and against said legislation. Whom do you think Congress is going to ask when it's thinking of invading yet another industry (It's already into food, automaking, medicine, ...). It will consult with "industry leaders." It's inevitable. Rather than asking for better, smarter legislation, how about asking for ZERO legislation? Nobody ever thinks of that.

@shoahkhan5670 Reduce the power and scope of the U.S. Government. You will never eliminate lobbying, but you can reduce its power by reducing the power of the government, itself. The only reason there are people lobbying is because pending legislation can make or break them in the private sector. Imagine if the government didn't legislate on everything under the sun. Then there would be no purpose or return on investment in always petitioning the government for special treatment, because the government isn't giving anybody special treatment, because it's not legislating in that sphere.
