I think you can be a friend to Israel without rubber-stamping all of its blunders and miscalculations. Israel, for its identity as The Jewish Homeland, has decided to be an apartheid state. As an apartheid state, it no longer falls within the bounds of civilized western nations. When you have no choice but to resort to atrocity for your survival, over and over again, you need to take a step back and do some self-reflection about all your previous choices.
