We wouldn't even be TALKING about socialism in this country, if it weren't for the prosperity created by free trade. Socialists just want to see it get divided up more fairly, without understanding that that kind of authoritarianism will destroy the prosperity, making all of us equally miserable.

  3. I think it's BEEN serious, for a LONG-ass time. The reason for all the uproar, now, is because the establishment is helpless to prevent the tide from running out, leaving their institutional controls helplessly stranded. Now they're at the "sand slipping through their fingers" stage, but they just know nothing other than to squeeze harder.

  7. I'm for transparency on funding sources. If you've got a guy pumping hundreds of thousands into your show, that should be public record that is easily obtained. When you're collecting 2s and Fews from thousands of jag-off viewers, that's not something needing reporting, afaic.

  11. I will grant Dems props on one point: They at least TALKED anti-war longer than the Repubs. I think the insiders MISS the early days of Desert Storm and Iraqi Freedom, where embedded reporters breathlessly and adoringly covered those wars. George W. was even sorta popular, because EVERYone must back the president in time of war. Right? Right? And there's a good-sized-but-thankfully-shrinking segment of the American public who are either in on it or are simply NPCs following their programming. They literally CALL it "TV Programming!" smh
